Throughout the winter of 2022 I volunteered at a remote off-grid community in the North Cascades called Holden Village. In that time I focused on lending my gifts where they were needed, free of compensation. In the peak winter months, the snow caps over each chalet, giving the appearance of a think bonnet on each home. This illustration is a loose depiction from the top of "Chalet Hill". I thought this was the most iconic scene in the village, and captured the essence of a mountain winter. Holden wanted to honor the year of Jubilee—a season of rest, replenishment, and forgiveness of debts—throughout the village's 60th anniversary year in operation.
